THE RECORDS BELOW ARE A FEW EXAMPLES OF "PUBLIC" RECORDS THAT VIRGINIA LEGISLATORS AND OTHER STATES' LEGISLATORS WANT AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET.   These records are PUBLIC records.  Once records are recorded at the courthouse, they become PUBLIC (unless sealed by a judge) and ANYONE can get them.   But shouldn't we all have to drive to the Courthouse to see them?   Yes, but sadly that is not the case anymore.  Legislators have kowtowed to special interest and voted to allow these records online.

AND HERE IS ONE DOCUMENT WITHOUT SSNs.   2) AND HERE IS ONE FOR BOARD OF SUPV.  MEMBER ANDREW KUNASEK WITH SSNs (SEE PAGE 4) AND HERE'S A SECOND RECORD.   3) AND HERE IS BOARD OF SUPV. MEMBER, FULTON BROCK SHOWING HIS SIGNATURE, LOAN #, AND HOME ADDRESS    4)  LUCY MASON, WHO REPRESENTS DISTRICT 1 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES WHICH SHOWS SIGNATURES, LOAN NUMBERS, AND HOME ADDRESS    UPDATE: The Maricopa Recorder blacked out most SSNs on her site as of mid 2007.

Found on Massachusetts Sec of State UCC Search site - (NOTE:  Because the Secretary of State has redacted SSNs off his UCC search site, then we are breaking the link to this record.) Senator Stephen J. Buoniconti and wife's SSNs on a UCC.

Missouri Secretary of State UCC search site -  (NOTE:  Because the Secretary of State has redacted SSNs off his UCC search site, then we are breaking the link to this record.) Missouri U.S. Senator Jean A. Carnahan's and her daughter's UCC containing their SSNs.  (Note: After Robin Carnahan discovered that her own record showed her mother's, etc.' SSNs, she had them blacked out, but hundreds of thousands of them remained until she shut the site down to remove SSNs... Here is her UCC search page. 

N.C. Sec. of State UCC search site - (NOTE:  Because the Secretary of State has redacted SSNs off the UCC search site, then we are breaking the link to this record.)   North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Stephen W. Troxler's UCC (Financing Statement courtesy of the N. C. Secretary of State's UCC site)  Note: When Troxler discovered his SSN was on the internet courtesy of Elaine Marshall, he had his SSN blacked out but didn't tell anyone else on his Commission... And what legal authority did the Sec. of State have to black out his and no one else's?  The N.C. Attorney General's office was asked this question and asked to prosecute the Sec. of State but no one in the office responded.   There are over 675,000 SSNs on the Secretary's site.)  

"PUBLIC" records contain Social Security numbers in many instances and are already available via the internet thanks to various Court Clerks/Recorders/Registers of Deeds and Secretaries of State all over the U.S. including Virginia.  In fact, Virginia legislators unanimously voted to allow these records to be made available online without thinking of the unintended consequences of allowing the records to be accessed by ANYONE anywhere. 

Some states are worse than others about what they are putting online. To find out if records are available online in your state or county, ask your Court Clerk, Register of Deeds, or Auditor/Recorder AND also your Sec. of State what records they have put online or made available via the internet.
